This artist, Ms. Aki Kondo says “The happiness that exists here in this world simply is what it is. There can be things that lack form in this world, yet still exist, and I see and feel their countless vestiges here among us. I trace invisible paths of memory to paint them, and by painting them, I trace them once more. All this together forms the happiness that exists here in this world.” Aki Kondo, the writer, says this.
Because of the era of coronavirus that always side by side with anxiety, traveling abroad or gathering with friends to party is not the only “happiness” you deserve, but even from small events and things in our daily lives. I received a message that I could feel enough “happiness” from her book. If you want to actually see and enjoy the luster and excitement of her paint, the flow of the brush, and the overlapping colors that are the characteristics of Ms. Aki Kondo’s many works, please visit Park Hotel Tokyo in Shiodome. There are Artist rooms where each artists drew their works directly on the wall of the guest room, and one of them was finished by Ms. Aki Kondo. Please be healed in the “OTAFUKU” room filled with Ms. Aki Kondo’s world view. This collection of works is a book that makes me want to support Aki Kondo, who continues to draw works that strongly affirm living now.

Kenzo Takada traveled to France in 1965. He is a pioneer paving the way for Japanese designers to expand into the world by his successful that he opened “Jungle Jap” as his first store at the Galerie Vivienne in Paris. This book is one of the special editions includes more than 300 hand-painted fashion design drawings left by him. At the end of the book, a letter written to his mother was released, which describes his love for his family living in his hometown and his feelings of nostalgia for Japan, and I think there are many people who can sympathize with him. Please do open this bright pink book which has a strong presence. You can visually enjoy the world view of KENZO.

It also introduces episodes of familiar buildings that everyone has visited once such as hotels, department stores, museums, and beer halls. Some people think architecture is difficult to understand but I think you can always enjoy this book even if you are not expert on architecture. This book is written easier to understand explanations and without terminology.
If you like to go out for meal and know the meaning of the fine work of the buildings, your meal time will be more fan because there is plenty of information about meals too. I recommend this book to those who like beautiful architecture and visiting restaurants.
